YMCA Triathlon Training

Triathlete’s!!!! Join the YMCA of Greater Syracuse in its new Triathlon Training Program! Launched in January the Syracuse YMCA branches are dedicated to helping the new Triathlete, as well as those who are experienced Triathlete’s. The program focuses on all levels and will be able to help you reach your goals.
 
The YMCA offers classes and programs for athletes of all levels at all of our three area YMCA branches. This set-up will open several training times and clinics to work on any part of the Triathlon you need help in.
 
FOR New Triathletes we offer:  
  • Swim Clinics with 3 levels based on experience. They are FREE to members and are $95 for Non-Members. Clinics run for seven weeks. Registration has started for these clinics! Call one of our three branches for the next round of clinics starting soon! These clinics are sure to help you find your groove and prepare you for the water segment of the event.
  • We also offer a cycle program called "8 Week Ride" for YMCA Members. The "8 Week Ride" is perfect for those starting on a bike for the first time. Our instructors will take you through the steps get ready to train for the bicycle portion of the event. 
  • Also, being offered are running programs that focus on speed work and endurance runs as we approach the summer. There is a Running Hydro Training Program geared for enhancing runner’s abilities, reducing the impact of street/treadmill running. This will help prevention injury. This is a must-do program for any runner! Just supplementing one day of your normal running with the Hydro Training can improve overall speed, strength, technique and reduce the potential for injury or help keep your legs strong if injured. Cost for Members is $30.00 and Non Members pay: $50.00
 Experienced Triathletes have the option to participate in all the above trainings as well as the following:  
  • Six Masters Swim Team Sessions per Week
  • Endurance Swim Training
  • “Coached” swims
  • Three Pools with four or more open lap lanes (See schedule for those times)
  • Indoor Brick Workouts
  • Indoor Cycle Classes 7 days a week
  • Endurance Rides
  • Individual/Group Running (Indoor Speed Workouts)
All of these programs are FREE for YMCA Members.
 
YMCA Members receive all these options at our three locations. This means you get 7 days a week of training opportunities! There is free Childcare at North & East Area Y’s for Family Members during scheduled time. Check your local branch for times.
