YMCA Oneida Shores Open Water Swim

The YMCA Oneida Shores Open Water Swim is held each year in June at Oneida Shores in Brewerton, NY. Swimmers compete in the 800 or 1,500 event. Money raised at YOSOWS benefits the Partner With Youth Campaign, in particular Y-Kids Inc., which supports children with special needs. The third annual YMCA Oneida Shores Open Water Swim will take place on June 12, 2010.
New to this years Open Water Event: I am happy to announce that Yellow Jacket Racing has been confirmed as the company who will be recording our results and swim times for the 2010 YMCA Oneida Shores Open water swim! You can check out their website at: http://www.yellowjacketracing.com/. Adding Yellow Jacket Racing to our event will enhance the quality and experience for all swimmers.

2010 YMCA Oneida Shores Open Water Swim Canceled!
Due to the poor weather conditions and unsafe water conditions, with great sorrow this years swim has been canceled. All swimmers will be receiving a letter from Kelly Miner the East Area Family YMCA Associate Executive Director. This letter is in regards to how we are handling the issues regarding this years Open Water Swim. You will Have this letter in your hands in a few days. I want to thank everyone for coming out and supporting our fundraiser event. No one is more disappointed than I about this years swim being canceled. We had a record breaking year of swimmers, 185 signed up and was to be a historic event! I hope to see everyone next at the 2011 YMCA Oneida Shores Open Water Swim, with excellent weather! Thank you for your support and understanding!
